Take a view at Canon Vixia HF G10 AVCHD camcorder

The VIXIA HF G10 Flash Memory Camcorder is Canon's high-end offering for 2011. Packed with so many mouth-watering features and functions it doesn't seem to right to call this model a 'consumer camcorder'. Yet, still at a consumer price-point the HF G10 brings professional capabilities to those who seek to do more while staying within the means of their budget.
The Vixia HF G10 uses the full AVCHD format for 1920 x 1080p high definition recording. It supports 24Mbps recording, the highest bit-rate available in the AVCHD video format. The HF G10features a 1/3-inch HD CMOS image sensor. This sensor comes courtesy of Canon's professional camcorders and it has far fewer pixels than conventional HD camcorder sensors. That's a good thing - fewer pixels mean larger pixels and larger pixels are capable of capturing more light, leading to improved low light performance and better color reproduction.
It's pricey, but testers say its footage looks so superb -- even in very dim light, such as birthday-candle scenes -- that it's like shooting with a professional video camera. Actually, this camcorder uses the same CMOS Pro image sensor as Canon's entry-level pro camcorders, and it's one of the few camcorders that can shoot true film-like 24p video. An excellent image stabilizer keeps footage rock-steady.
Canon Vixia HF G10 Pros:
Class leading image quality in bright and low light, Native 24p, Bountiful manual controls, High quality glass, Improved built-in microphone, Gaggle of in-camera customizable shooting filters available, Exceptional build and design, including dual SD card slots and focus ring, Mini HDMI cable included in the box
Canon Vixia HF G10 Cons:
Powerhouse computer and software needed to handle large video files, Limited battery life requires the purchase of additional packs, Basic editing software included, Touchscreen LCD is stubborn at times
For Mac guys, if you want to edit Vixia camcorders record in HD M2TS file which is not supported by Mac you will meet some problems. I.e. iMovie'11 doesn't support Canon HF M2TS for video stabilization or Mac with an Intel-based Core Duo processor limitation. Focus on playing and editing Vixia HF HD video on Mac, we'd better convert canon vixia camcorder video to mac iMovie MOV, Mp4, FCP(X) DV formats.
Mac Canon Vixia Converter is a shareware for Canon AVCHD to iMovie conversion. With Mac Canon Vixia Converter installed on Mac, you can convert canon vixia AVCHD to mac easily. If you do not expect to lose the HD quaility, then you can choose iMovie MPEG-4 H.264 as the output video format.
