Import Canon Vixia MTS to Mac so you can enjoy it for more fun

"Importing a Canon Vixia Hf r10 into iMovie (mts)?
I somehow managed to get it to work once, but I have no idea how. I think the import screen automatically popped up. I cannot get iMovie to import these files off of my camera though. Any help?"
"How can I make my Canon Vixia HF R100 import to my Mac?
Canon insists its Vixia HF R100 camcorder works with Mac and iMovie. I have not found success with it. What do I need to do to import movies and photos from it to use in iMovie"
iMovie (even the current one) can't work directly with the .mts file. When you recorded the video, the camera created a folder structure including the .mts files and other info, and iMovie needs the full folder to make sense of the .mts file. Mac Canon Vixia Video Converter is assuredly the easiest and quickest way for Canon camcorder owner to transcode HD M2TS or MTS video to Mac-compatible formats like MOV, MPEG4, etc. Meanwhile, it has various optimized presets for editing applications like Final Cut Express, FCP or iMovie; portable devices like iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Classic, iTouch, BlackBerry, Zune, Creative Zen, iRiver, etc.
Three steps on how to transfer or convert Canon Vixia video to Mac, iMovie or FCP, etc
Step 1: Download the Mac Canon Vixia video conversion program, then connect Canon Vixia camcorder to Mac. Click "Add File" to load .mts or .m2ts shootings into the application.
Step 2: Choose the output video format in the drop-up list of "Profile". If you intend to edit the recorded clips in iMovie, select iMovie video->iMovie MPEG-4 H.264 video format as the target format.
