Take a comparison between Sony Alpha NEX 6 VS NEX 7

Recently, there's a heated debate against whether Sony Alpha NEX 7, which was awarded an "Editors' Choice" (from c|net) in February 2012, or the NEX 6, which was believed (by consumers) to surpass NEX 7 in most ways and at a lower price, is better. To give a clearer view of NEX 6 and NEX 7 to consumers, we decided to make a simple comparison between them in this article.
First of all, let's take a look at what c|net says about these two cameras:
Sony Alpha NEX 6
"The good: A fine shooting design, great photo and good video quality, and excellent performance number among the Sony Alpha NEX-6's strengths.
"The bad: The camera lacks the option to save groups of custom settings, a real irritation, and we wish it had a neutral color preset. Plus Sony's wireless implementation is awkward, and the app system is annoying.
"The bottom line: The Sony Alpha NEX-6 delivers an as-yet-unbeatable package of image quality, performance, and design, even for its rather high price.
Sony Alpha NEX 7
"The good: The Sony Alpha NEX-7 delivers excellent raw photo and solid video quality in a package that's beautifully and functionally designed, yet relatively compact. Though expensive for an essentially nonprofessional camera, it doesn't seem overpriced.
"The bad: As with many competing products, the camera's JPEG algorithms need some optimization, some aspects of operation feel a little laggy, and it's missing some useful features.
"The bottom line: With a lot to like and just a little to dislike, the Sony Alpha NEX-7 comes up a winner, albeit an expensive one."

Although they are much the same with each other in almost every aspect, Sony aimed to make NEX 6 a superb mirrorless camera with EVF while labeling it more affordable than its flagship model NEX 7. Comparing NEX 6 and NEX 7, the Alpha NEX 6 might be the one mirrorless camera that many users have been long awaiting as its price is around $998 while NEX 7 is about $1099. However, lots of photographers just won't like a camera that has not an eye-level viewfinder, which could probably be the most outstanding characteristic on the NEX-6.
On the other hand, the NEX-7 is warmly welcomed by the camera enthusiasts in many ways. Although its powerful features make it one of the dearest mirrorless cameras on the marketplace, it is a worth paying for the compactness, and the extended features which set justify the cost. Moreover, compared to NEX 7, the NEX-6 loses the metal construction of the NEX-7, and has less resolution and less powerful battery life.
To sum up, Cameras change their generation very fast however, and Sony is painstakingly working on bringing new cameras and lenses to the market. But you can see that Sony is listening to what its customers really need, and the NEX-6 could be a strong evidence for that. So just go over the specs of both NEX 6 and NEX 7 and choose your favorite one wisely.
