Window Movie Maker: A video creating and editing software

Windows Movie Maker is a video creating/editing software application, included in Microsoft Windows Me, XP, and Vista. It contains features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline narration, and Auto Movie. New effects and transitions can be made and existing ones can be modified using XML code. Windows Movie Maker is also a basic audio track editing program. It can apply basic effects to audio tracks such as fade in or fade out. The audio tracks can then be exported in the form of a sound file instead of a video file.

The first version was available for Windows Me in 2000, followed by Windows XP in 2001, including other XP editions. It enables you to create home movies and slide shows on your computer, complete with professional-looking titles, transitions, effects, music, and even narration. And when you're ready, you can use Windows Movie Maker to publish your movie and share it with your friends and family.

After you've imported files into Windows Movie Maker, you're ready to start the main part of moviemaking-editing. Using Windows Movie Maker, you can edit clips in a variety of different ways. You can split a long clip into two shorter clips, combine two clips into a single clip, trim the beginning or ending of a clip, and even create new clips.

Here you can read about how to add a title to a movie.

Click on "Tools" on the menu bar, and then click on "Titles and Credits".
Follow the instructions, and choose where in the movie you want to put the title. Once you have selected, then new window will appear.
Atfter that, type in what you want in the title. If there are 2 boxes (as shown), then this is a 2 line title. If there is one box, then it is a 1 line title. Once you have typed in your text, click on "Change the title animation" link at the bottom.

Here's the fun part. Highlight each animation name to sample what it looks like. Play around with this, because there are several fun options you can apply to your title. When you have found which animation you would like, click on "Edit the title text".

Then choose the text font, size, color, transparency, and properties of your title. Use this like you would in Microsoft Word.

When all options (text, animation, and font) have been set, click on "Done, add title to movie" to insert the title in the movie.

Once applied, there will be a title in the appropiate track. If you need to go back in and change the settings to the title, just double click on the title.
